What is the Care Certificate?
The Care Certificate is made up of a set of standards that health and social care professionals are expected to adhere to in their daily tasks. It establishes the foundational benchmark that should be achieved by new care workers during their initial training phase.
It’s important to note that the Care Certificate is a crucial part of the comprehensive induction that employers are legally obligated to provide. This is in alignment with the essential standards designed by the Care Quality Commission. 10. Safeguarding Adults | Focuses on protecting vulnerable adults from harm. |
11. Safeguarding Children | The protection of children and young people. |
12. Basic Life Support | Covers the basic skills required to save lives in emergency situations. |
13. Health and Safety | Methods to maintain a safe working environment. |
14. Handling Information | This standard deals with the proper handling and storage of information in care settings. |
15. Infection Prevention and Control | Measures and practices to prevent and control infections. |
